  3. 3

Draw 2 ovals for the ears on each side of the rectangle, and a triangle below the rectangle for the chin.

  4. 4

Find the center line. Draw a line across the top of the ears.

  5. 5

Draw 2 more guidelines—1 across the middle of the ears and 1 below them.

  6. 6

Use your guidelines to draw the eye sockets. To do so, draw 2 circles between the top and the second lines. The nose tip is on the third line. The nose will be diamond-shaped.

  7. 7

Add the details. Draw the eyes wide and circular. The iris should be small to emphasize shock. Draw 2 high arches for the eyebrows.

  8. 8

Draw the details for the nose. First, draw the desired size of nostrils using triangles. Then, draw curved lines to show the nose. Add lines at the side of nostrils for some flare.

  9. 9

Draw the mouth open, almost like an "O." The lower teeth should be showing to add a slacked-jaw expression

  10. 10

Ink the drawing. Erase the sketch.

  11. 11

    Color the drawing.

  • Question

How do I draw someone with their hands on their face?

    Community Answer

First try making the hair and the structure of the face. Later on, you can Google hand sketches and copy the hand you find best. Also look for tutorials if you don't find them interesting, then start by sketching hands by looking at your own hands. The first result might be ugly, but try, try again!

  • Question

How do I draw an anime person with a shocked face?

    Community Answer

To draw a shocked face, raise the eyebrows higher than their natural position, widen the eyes, and make the irises smaller for dramatic effect. Draw the character's mouth open as if yelling. A good idea would be to stand in front of a mirror and make a shocked face yourself. Notice the features of your face that stand out when surprised, and try to implement that into your drawing.
